You needn't apologize, but I think you're affecting it. Whatever your powers are, they negate everything else. You might be having that effect on the orb each time you lay a hand on it. As I said, if you're truly desperate, then use it. But leave it as a last resort.

Yes. It's a language like I thought, though! I mean, I knew it was a language, but it's a language for the Historians to write the Truth. The Truth as they understand it. At least they're fairly certain it's the truth. Anyone who learns it in full goes mad.

I'm hardly going to try to translate it again, Mr. Grigory. We need to find another Historian. Or see if one of the Hedonists might be able to make sense of it. Do you know Ms. Elice? I'm not terribly good friends with her, but I've a mind if any of them could help us, it would be her.

I already tried asking Ms. Aletheia about the lines. She said she recognized it, but couldn't remember anything properly. I think whatever's blocked out our memories of what happened to end the world might be doing something similar to her.

She might well have some idea now that the truth is out and known about what they are, but I don't know if she'll be able to translate. We can certainly try, but it may be some time before she contacts us again. In the interim, there are other avenues to pursue.
