[ He doesn't answer. He's feeling more than thinking right now, is the thing, and it just doesn't occur to him to send a response via text. It's not that big a settlement after all.

He knocks on Sam's door pretty hard, nearly pounding at it, and stands there breathing too hard from running as he waits for the response. ]

[ Which actually comes as a complete surprise since, failing to receive a response, Sam figures that he had made things awkward with his request and Mikado had stepped away from the conversation for the moment.

The knocking actually gets him to look up from where he sits on the couch, very slowly standing despite the frantic knocking and moving over to it. ]

I CAME RIGHT AWAY!

[ Have a Mikado slumping on your doorstep breathing heavily, Sam. ]

[ He blushes, looks away. ]

[ Excited?? To see him...? Even after all the trouble he caused, what he'd done not to to Izaya, but Masaomi and Mikado himself??

Sam can't help it--he feels a swell of happiness in his chest as he nods, quickly stepping back to let the other in. ]

[ Mikado toes off his shoes because it's the minimum amount of proper he can be, then walks over and flops on the couch without waiting for further invitation. A bottle of water appears in his hands, and then he asks. ]

Anything you need today before..?

[ Not that he came here to do anything in particular, but it's unlikely they're just not going to touch, too. ]

[ No doubt there, and though it takes Sam a moment to clue in, when he does he takes a reflexive step back and rubs the back of his head in embarrassment. And a healthy amount of shame, after all the trouble he caused. ]

I...n-no, I'm fine... [ He he really ought to say is that he's down to only two pairs of clothes and down shoes or a bed thanks to his powers amplifying, but he feels far too guilty to bring it up right now, like this. ]

[ He doesn't know what Sam is thinking, of course, but the hesitance makes him wonder, and he does want to be sure his friend is taken care of. ]

[ He opens his bottle of water and takes a long drink of it, since he's just been running, before setting it down. Then he spreads his legs slightly, leans forward, and clasps his hands between them. ]

N-no, I...it's just. I'm still--worried. Nothing's disappeared since I touched the orb but it still feels like if I touch anyone it'll happen all over again. [ The red streaking across his face is equal parts embarrassment and guilt as Sam looks down at his feet, fidgeting with his own hands. Mostly to keep himself from reaching out to the other. ]

[ Mikado nods, then waves his hand, as if it's his house to boss someone around in. ]

Can you sit down somewhere so you're not hovering awkwardly then? And... how about this? We can talk for a bit, and then before I'm ready to go, we'll try. So that I can go straight for help if I need to?

Oh--yeah, sorry.... [ Sam nods quickly, head snapping back up. ] I--yeah. That's okay. [ Let him find a seat a foot or so away from Mikado, and he'll be good. Still fidgety, but good. Ish. ]

[ Why does everything have to be so complicated? Mikado just wants to grab Sam and kiss him, but he doesn't want to upset him either. He's more worried about Sam being hurt by hurting him than he is... Sam hurting him. ]

Did you want to hear what Masaomi dragged you into there or..? I was really upset you saw me like that. Worried, you know?

You mean--before? When he wanted me to stop you...? [ Those aren't pleasant memories either, honestly. He wasn't used to seeing Mikado anything but composed and collected, if a little flustered. He'd been...well, a mess would be putting it lightly. ]
